From the Editor
Successful conference marketing
is all about partnering with
the attendees. The family and professional caregivers in attendance
need to know that you provide a viable solution for their challenges as
they care for their loved ones and clients. We look forward to sharing
some of the successful conference marketing tips and techniques since
our first Fearless Caregiver conference was held in 1998.

Take Care

1. Show up on time.
According to Woody Allen, 80% of success is simply in
showing up. I would add that as a sponsor/exhibitor, showing up
on time not only ensures that you don’t miss out on any
potential business, but it is also missed opportunity business
to be represented by an exhibit table with nothing on it but a
sign with your organization's name. |

2. Enthusiasm,
energy, engagement.
Show interest in the conference attendees, and will they show
interest in you.
There is a major difference in results for the exhibitor
who smiles, engages, asks questions and even pleasantly
intercepts the attendees as they walk by their booth with an
appropriate offer of information or advice.
We recently received phone calls from two exhibitors who
were at the same event. One exhibitor called to say how
astonished she was by the positive responses and qualified
leads she received at the event and the other called to
complain that nobody seemed interested in his offer.
I remember seeing both of these exhibitors at the event. One
exhibitor had well-produced materials, a nice display and
was highly engaged with the attendees as they stopped by
her booth. The other had a few pieces of paper on his table,
no table display and spent much of the time sitting behind
his booth, if not on his cell phone. Guess which exhibitor
complained about the outcome of their sponsorship? |

What people are saying about
the Fearless Caregiver Conferences

|
|
|
Sponsors and Exhibitors:
“Great event. We were happy to be a part of
it. Congratulations on a successful
conference and thanks.”
“It was wonderful to be a part of something as
needed as your conference…You
all are doing a great job and thank you for letting us be a part of it.”
Family Caregivers:
“What a wonderful turnout and it was nice to
learn that your Caregiver Media
Group is a “family affair.” I think this meeting showed that people are
desperate
for reliable information and this type of informal give-and-take between
the
“experts” and the family caregivers is so important.”
“It was such an inspirational day…I was truly amazed
at the outpouring of
support and concern so many caregivers offered to their fellow
caregivers…What
a tremendous forum you provided for them to share their experiences and
be
heard and helped by others who share common experiences.” |

Successful Event Tip
- Walk the aisles and view your display exactly as a family caregiver views it.
Ask yourself, can I easily see the display, is the type size readable, is the message clear?
- Introduce yourself to every exhibitor and give them your business card. You
never know if they will share your card with
your next customer.
- The Fearless Caregiver Conference Guide
lists the telephone and address of each
exhibitor.
- Bring enough giveaways and brochures to share with other exhibitors.
