Can a Baker's Cyst be successfully treated externally?
My Baker's Cyst problem began over 10 years ago. After 2-3 aspirations over about 5-6 months, I had arthroscopic surgery in April of 1998. One more aspiration in June of 1998 and I was back to normal running. In the fall of 2006 while running up a steep hill, it felt like I pulled my lower hamstring. My Baker's Cyst/ pulled lower hamstring has stopped me from running. In Nov of 2007 I had arthroscopic surgery again, but my Baker's Cyst has not gone away.(no running) I understand that most of the time that Baker's Cyst's are caused by an abnormality within the knee, but can a Baker's Cyst be corrected externally?
Can a Baker's Cyst be treated externally through aspirations or removal of the cyst and repair of the hole that leaks the fluid to the cyst?
Does the American Running Association have a Sports Medicine Professional in the Philadelphia PA or Minneapolis MN areas that could help me with my Baker's Cyst problem?
