I have taken care of a legally blind senior citizen
for almost six years. I live with him and am constantly
stressed because he belittles me and argues about
everything. He has even admitted that he likes to argue with
me more than being nice and cordial. Any suggestions? It’s
not good for my health.

For over 30 years I have 'aide'n all' including blind. One senior lady was the tiniest sweetest gal, I former artist, painter. Her husband was with her and when he needed some errands to run, I stayed with our lil lady. .She enjoyed when we shared some of our passions. I shampooed and set her hair.and read to her. took her for walks outdoors; with leaves or flowers, have her guess what they are by its smell. gave her a special value to her life, gave her a new sense of her ability as an artist and as a wife.

Yes! Don't let him belittle you. When he starts, put on your hand and say very firmly - STOP! Pause. Let it sink in. Then say, "Until you treat me with respect, I am leaving the room." And leave the room and take a break. Keep at it until he stops because he really does want your company.
