I have a wife with a rare
disease called Behcet's. She
is quite ill most of the
time. I am looking for
suggestions to avoid
caregiver burnout and I have
been selected as a husband
and caregiver of a Behcet's
patient to speak on the
subject during The Behcet's
Conference this April in
Orlando Florida. So I am
asking for help with
information and sources for
information to assist in my
endeavor.

I recommend calling them. They were a fantastic resource when we were down in Florida.

I think having someone to talk to is very goog for support. I think living every day, one day at a time is important, and in every day find some time that you can devote to yourself. My wife has been fighting ULMS for four years so I'm learning to pace myself so as not to get burnd out. frogjump53@yahoo.com

Please visit the Well Spouse Assn. (WSA) at www.wellspouse.org, a not-for-profit, nat'l/int'l organization offering peer-to-peer emotional support for spousal caregivers. WSA offers so much support and friendship - take it from another "well spouse". I wish you the best.
