This Week's Carenote - 12/10/09
I have a problem
with my mother and her
chronic back pain. In
the rehab hospital they are
giving her less pain
medication and she is
spending her time in bed.
When I tell her she needs to
get up, she tells me that
her back is killing her.
Is there any advice
that could help me when she
gets home?

CommentsI also have severe back problems, but your mom is not doing herself any favors by lying in bed. I have suffered for many years. My sister told me about a medication called Mobic. I feel like I have a new lease on life now. Ask her doctor about it. It's been like a miracle for me. I hope it works as well for her.

CommentsDon't wait until your mother comes home, start now. Make sure the rehab staff get her out of bed on a regular basis. When she makes this a daily habit, it will be easier for you once she is home. I wish you the very best and may God bless you for all you do.
